You can access and read CamcorderUser.Net if you have a WAP enabled cellphone (web surfing).  In your cellphone's browser just enter:

www.camcorderuser.net/index.php?wap2 (or for some phones leave off the www.)

Save that URL in your bookmarks so you can return easily.

When you arrive on site, scroll down to the bottom of the page and login using your user name and password.  Then, you can select read unread posts, read replies or access Private Messages.  Unfortunately, you will not be able to see any pictures or view posted videos.  But, what the heck, you will be able to keep up with what's going on when you are away from your computer. Yep, technology is amazing, Shaun.  Actually, I think the tech is beyond the capabilities of our forum software right now.  We should be able to view the full content of the posts, including pictures and video.  I believe that many of the phones allow that.  But, the forum software needs to be able to send the info in the right format for the phones to use.  It's coming along, though.  Perhaps soon.

Well, according to an article I read, the problem is not with the cell phone makers, but rather with the networks.  They basically dictate the features they want on a  phone.

I suppose that is true to an extent.  However, the features are present in the 3G networks or the iPhone and other similar hybrids would not have all the features they have.  But, most Internet programs are designed for the XML browsers and not for 3G.  I think they are getting behind if they don't think the majority of users will be on cell phones or pocket PCs in the future.  I have a Motorola KRZR and it works well with the text-only WAP2.  But, it can display video and pictures (also, because it takes them) from the Internet over 3G.  Technically, it should work in the forum if the forum software accommodated its operating system.

Recent analysis by AppleInsider indicates that Apple will upgrade its new 4G iPhone (coming in June) to include video recording.  Also, AT&T will upgrade its 3G network to increase download speeds from about 3.5 Mbps to 20 Mbps.  I believe the popularity of the iPhone will make many consumers drop any plans to buy a dedicated camcorder, especially if the price level of the new iPhone remains consistent with current pricing.
