For sale in US and Canada: Panasonic PV-DV953 3-CCD standard definition camcorder.

Fully functional in Like New Condition with all the original accessories in the original box plus an additional, high capacity 3400 mAh high capacity battery.  The CCD system is new, replaced under a Panasonic recall in April, 2007.

$450.

Payment via PayPal (including credit cards), cashier's check or money order will be accepted.

I've shot and captured approximately 15 tapes through this cam but usually less than 30 minutes per tape and I\'ve used only new premium Panasonic tapes, never taped over previously recorded tapes.  This is a solid, well built cam.  It features fully automatic video recording plus many features now gone from consumer cams such as display brightness control; analog to digital conversion with pass through; manual shutter speed, focus and exposure settings with focus ring; slide out, tiltable viewfinder that can be used with high capacity batteries; mic in and headphone out jacks; zebra pattern; and mic level adjustment.  More specs and features listed below.

It's difficult to part with it but I've moved up to HDV and have many new accessories I want to get.

Send PM if you're interested.

Good luck.

Dennis

Details

The PV-DV953 incorporates the sophisticated Leica Dicomar lens and 3 CCDs that compose an image for vivid, true-to-life pictures with remarkable depth and presence. The PV-DV953 features a unique MagicWire wired remote with buttons for record start/stop, zoom in/out, and Photoshot (still picture), which makes it easy to hold the camcorder in one hand and activate major features via the remote in the other hand. The 3 megapixel PV-DV953 features a 10x telescopic optical zoom lens and a 700x digital zoom that allows for amazing 700:1 clear, close-ups from wide angle to full telephoto zoom. It also has  a Tele-Jump Zoom for instant 1.5x zoom with no picture deterioration. The PV-DV953 includes a zoom microphone to capture accompanying audio, even when recording from a distance. With Panasonic's Progressive PhotoShot mode, the PV-DV953 also doubles as a digital still camera with the ability to record still pictures.  Resulting images can then be downloaded to a PC from an SD memory card or from a mini DV tape. A MagicPix feature helps users shoot full color video and still images in extremely low-light situations. And, MPEG Internet Movie, which records MPEG 4 moving images onto an SD memory card, lets you easily transfer video clips with audio to a PC. To help take the jitter out of hand-held video taping and compensate for unintentional hand and camcorder movement the PV-DV953 uses an Optical Image Stabilizer system that uses two movable lenses and two fixed lenses to detect even the slight shaking. This results in clear, sharp images that are free of picture degradation.
