An inquiry...
« on: February 02, 2010, 11:53:01 AM »
Hi Guys

I am wanting to buy some bulk MiniDV tapes. It appears there is a good deal at an outfit in the US.

http://www.taperesources.com/DV60K-P.html

Only trouble is they do not/will not ship international. They asked if I new anyone with a US address they could ship to. I said no...but then wondered if one of you may be able to have them delivered to you and then post them on to me.

Not sure what shipping to NZ would be...but we can work out a way for me to pay you for it.

Can't help you on the shipping thing but an alternative would be to buy from B & H.

or

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/132812-REG/Sony_DVM60PRR_DVM_60PR_Premium_Mini_DV.html

They ship to New Zealand.

They'll cost you a reasonable bit more than the site you linked to but at least you can eliminate having someone here in the US receive them and then the hassle of sending it along to you.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks Jeff.

I've bought a bit of stuff from B&H but their shipping seems pretty pricy...

Of course all that would be required is re addressing the box and putting it in the mail...and letting me know the cost for reimbursement...I have Paypal so could transfer funds via that...

All the  best

Hi Rinso

I used to get my PQ tapes from PCX in Sydney for $55.00 for a pack of 10 ..the DVC tapes are a lot cheaper and they also have packs of 50 too. Worth checking out www.pcx.com.au

Rinso, I believe you can get them from www.globalmediapro.com

I didn't look, but they used to have them i'm sure.

Hi Rinso,

I could do that for you.

My zip code is 54301.

Go ahead and calculate shipping to here and then go to USPS.com and calculate shipping from here to there. You could check UPS.com for shipping from here to there, but not sure how difficult International shipping is with them. I have done the Post Office many times, with no troubles.

If the costs still sound to be reasonable for the combined rides those tapes will get, let me know and we can discuss the details.

Thanks so much Chip. I'll check it all out and get back to you...Not sure if I can work out shipping accurately from here but will try using product weights I have here...

Yeah, Shaun, Globalmediapro used to have them  - and I got some from them - but apparently no more  :( :( Would be straightforward if they did!!
